Tobi Bakre, second runner-up of Big Brother Naija season three, says he cannot present a fake version of himself for money.

Bakre, who was a fan favourite in the early days of the show, finished third behind Miracle and Cee-C.

The reality TV star said in retrospect he would not do anything differently.

“I went into the house to be myself and I won’t sacrifice being myself for N25 million or N45 million in prizes,” he said in an interview with Media Room Hub.

“If I’m going to win, let me win as myself. Of course I had my flaws. Coming out of the house, people have asked me questions like ‘G, what happened to you in the first two weeks?’

I’m like that’s a part of me. I get patient, I try to learn, I try to study,  I try to understand. But then if I feel like I have extended my limit I just have to come back together.

“For me, I won’t play the game any other way. I went there to be myself. N45 million, I will now fake to be somebody else, then the world will have this image of me.

“Then I come out and it’s another image, no. It won’t match up. You don’t want to come out of the house and then people will have to get to know you again.”

Tobi, who drifted away from Cee-C because of his friendship with Alex, said he could date the latter because “she’s a good girl”.

“Why won’t I date her?” he asked.

“For me to say I won’t date her means there’s something wrong with her but there’s actually nothing wrong with her.

“So even without the last couple of weeks, us getting to know each other, I still think she’s a good girl and I still would have given the same response.”
