An artiste putting out three videos on consecutive days is not a common scenario, except if the individual wants to make a statement or has an agenda.
After releasing ‘Tonight’, ‘Love You Like Kilode’ and ‘Pabanbari’ in three days, 9ice, born Abolore Akande, is definitely turning heads.
Fans and music critics would be forgiven for wondering what the Alapomeji singer could be up to — but considering the fact that it is December, then perhaps, there’s an explanation.
What’s so special about December?
Everything.
It is the busiest month of all for any entertainer, especially artistes. Those with major hit songs will be on duty almost every day of the month while the artistes with minor hits will also get their fair share of shows.
Most artistes often tend to put out songs towards the end of the year to enjoy the perks of the quarter.
Another explanation for the release of three videos in quick succession could be that the ‘Gongo Aso’ singer wants fans to get accustomed to the songs ahead of 2018 when he plans to release his seventh studio album.
In August, 9ice announced the postponement of his album’s release, saying, “we are postponing it to next year March- Easter period”.
The last time 9ice put out multiple projects was six years ago, when he released his fourth and fifth albums at the same time.
‘Bashorun Gaa’ and ‘Versus’ had a combined total of 36 tracks with 18 tracks per album.
Since the start of 2017, 9ice has released not less than seven singles.
