With less than a month to the release of her highly anticipated sophomore album, Simi has put out a brand new single Joromi, with an accompanying video.
The theme, like most of her recordings, centers on love, desire and attraction — topics which have over time proven to be Simi’s comfort zone.
In the video, Simi looks for indirect ways to make a man she’s attracted to realise that she’s been “waiting since early momo (morning)”.
The petite singer successfully employs many time-tested female tricks to get him to pay attention to her.
Although Simi’s Joromi has elements of — and borrows inspiration from — Sir Victor Uwaifo’s 1969 original release, it has its own identity.
Joromi will resonate with fans, owing to its noticeable synergy in storytelling, by way of the lyrics and concept of the video.
