The Bikers’ dry run, billed for December 27, will precede the carnival.

Akin Ricketts, president of the Metallic Knights Motorcycle club in Calabar and organiser of this year’s parade, said several celebrities would be involved in the dry run.

“As a club formed barely one year ago, our motto is drive safe, drive home. In as much as we are going to thrill spectators, our watchword is caution as we take over the streets.

“Today, we have all our members and bikers from other clubs around Nigeria here for the pre-carnival run. We use this exercise to establish the route and create awareness to the public that this year’s event is going to be bigger and better.

“For today, the Millennials of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State; bikers from Imo, Edo, Enugu and other clubs are here. We are giving the people a little glimpse into what will be on display on the 27th.

“There are three stunts men today and on the carnival day, we will have those from sub-saharan Africa here – Ghana, Togo, as well as a couple of experts.”
