Charly Boy, the ace singer, says the presidential ambition of Peter Obi ahead of the 2023 general election has activated something unusual in the history of Nigeria.

Obi is a former governor of Anambra and presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP).

In a tweet on Friday, the ‘Civilian Barrack’ crooner said he is perceiving a “bloodless coup” in which Nigerians took back their “stolen future”.

He, however, said that although “Obi may or may not become the president,” his presence has “activated something unusual” in the nation’s history.

“I am smelling a “bloodless coup” in the making by ordinary Nigerians to retrieve their stolen future,” he wrote.

“Peter Obi may or may not become our president at the end of the day, but his presence has activated something unusual in our history and ordinary Nigerians. Wetin you think?”

Some other celebrities such as Psquare and Charles Inojie have endorsed the presidential aspirant while calling on fans and citizens to vote for him.

Obi had initially announced his intention to contest for presidency under the flag of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

However, a few days before the party’s primaries, the 60-year-old left the PDP and joined the Labour Party.
