An apology post from a TikTok account, purportedly belonging to the 10-year-old female pupil of Chrisland School involved in a sex tape scandal, has sparked controversy.

Pupils from the private school located in Victoria Garden City were in the UAE to participate in the World School Games between March 10 and 13, 2022.

The pupil’s mother had earlier claimed she was raped during the school’s trip to Dubai.

In a short note on the account — which has 12,400 followers — the user, alleged to be the pupil, apologised over the sex scandal.

“I made a mistake, now I’m living with the consequences. I regret it, I really do. And I’m sorry,” the post read.

Another post on the account read: “Don’t let your past dictate who you are, but let it be a lesson that strengthens the person you’ll become.”

The pupil was also said to have deleted all her videos on Likee, the short-video creation and sharing app.

While it remains to be seen if the pupil actually owned the account as claimed, the apology post has gone viral.

But in his reaction, the girl’s father dismissed the apology note, adding that the post was shared by an impostor.

“My daughter has never touched the phone for the past two weeks,” he was quoted as saying.

“She has never touched anything Internet; those accounts are fake and we have deleted them as of Friday, 87 fake accounts. All of them are fake and they are imposters.

“Can a 10-year-old girl delete social media? This child has never touched anything Internet or phone.

“She doesn’t have an account on (Likee). The account was closed as soon as we found out. These people (school) hid this thing for the past one month, we found out and raise the alarm.

“We are surprised that they started going to pick a child’s picture; like a child will stay in the house and snap a picture and start posting it, so we closed the account.”

When contacted by TheCable Lifestyle, Ubi Franklin, the talent manager who is also closed to the family, said the supposed apology from the pupil “is totally false”.

“The viral claim that the girl apologised is false, I can tell you that. It’s totally false,” he said.

Franklin added that “there have been a lot of revelations” in the course of investigation into the case.

“The case is going on very well. There have been a lot of revelations. The family cannot speak on the matter now because it is still under investigation,” he added.

The Lagos state government had earlier ordered the closure of the school amid the dust trailing the sex tape — but reopened it after a few days.

EDITOR’S NOTE: This story has been adjusted to reflect the position of the 10-year-old girl’s father as well as Ubi Franklin’s on the now-viral apology supposedly issued by the pupil.
