Following a two-month hiatus from the music scene, Wizkid, Nigerian Afropop superstar, is back and a new song of his has surfaced online.
The award-winning singer, who had announced his intention to take a break in January, returned to social media on Monday, indicating that he had new music on the way.
The new record which is yet to be officially released is titled ‘Jah Bless Me’. Ghanaian beatmaker, KillBeatz, is responsible for the production of the song which was reportedly recorded during his recent vacation in Ghana.
On ‘Jah Bless Me’, Wizkid wears the toga of the champion of the ghetto and common man, singing lines like, “please God when you send me my daily bread, please don’t put it where it’s hard to find”.
While taking a swipe at the government for not doing enough for people in the lower class, he also urged the ghetto youth to “drop your guns and pick your words”.
