Britain’s Prince Harry is officially engaged to Meghan Markle, an American actress.
The announcement was issued by Clarence House, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall’s official residence, via Kensington Palace’s Twitter page on Monday.
The wedding is slated to take place in spring 2018.
According to the statement on Twitter, “The Prince of Wales has announced the engagement of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle.
“Prince Harry and Ms Markle became engaged in London earlier this month.
“Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family.
“Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents.
“The wedding will take place in spring 2018. Further details will be announced in due course.”

The 33-year-old prince is the fifth in line to the British throne.
The couple will live at Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace in London after they exchange their nuptials.
Prince Harry and Markle, who have been dating since 2016, made their first public appearance as a couple in September.
Prince William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said of the engagement: “We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together”.
