Aishat Abimbola, a Nollywood actress popular for her role in 90s movie ‘Omoge Campus’, is dead.

The 46-year-old actress was said to have died of breast cancer in Canada on Tuesday night.

The hotel management graduate from Lagos State Polytechnic also runs a catering business.

Yemi Solade, Nollywood actor, and Abisola Adunni Badmus, an actress, shared the news on Instagram.

“Woe unto death. Aisha Abimbola dies of breast cancer. May God forgive your sins and receive your soul. Amen,” Solade wrote.

At the time of filing this report, an official statement announcing the incident had not been released.

She was also popular for her roles in TV series such as ‘So Wrong, So Wright’, ‘This Life’, ‘The Valley Between’, among others.

In several interviews, Abimbola said she never planned to be an actor, however, she was destined to be one.

She said Antar Laniyan, an actor and movie director, was responsible for her first shot in acting.

Abimbola said she met him while he and some other actors were shooting a movie scene on her campus when she was in the university.

“I walked up to him and told him I was interested in becoming an actor and the rest is now history,” she had said.

The actress gave birth to two children.
