The women told CNN that Freeman has a history of making inappropriate comments.

Chloe Melas, one of the writers of the report, was among the 16 people who gave accounts of their encounters with the actor.

Eight said they witnessed Freeman’s alleged conduct while the other half said they were victims.

The actor is said to often make comments about women’s bodies and clothing, at his production company Revelations Entertainment, and while promoting his movies.

Freeman is also accused of unwanted touching.

One woman said Freeman attempted to lift her skirt and look beneath it on the set of ‘Going in Style’. She said he didn’t stop until his co-star Alan Arkin intervened.

Three entertainment journalists — including Melas — said Freeman made inappropriate remarks during press junkets to promote new movies.

Lori McCreary, co-founder of his production company, is said to have also been subjected to inappropriate comments from Freeman.

According to the report, some of the incidents occurred in public, in front of witnesses and cameras.

Reacting to the allegations, a representative for Freeman in a statement, said: “Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy.

“I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected — that was never my intent.”
