The Make Music Lagos team has announced the event lineup for the 2018 edition of the event.

Make Music Lagos is the Nigerian edition of Make Music Day, a festival of free live music held in more than 120 countries across the world to commemorate World Music Day.

The 2018 edition will make it the third consecutive time the festival will be hosted in Lagos.

According to the organising team, a series of events will take place in June.

Make Music Lagos will kick off with Mass Appeal, a live performance by a diverse group of instrumentalists and bands at the newly opened Johnson Jakande Tinubu Park in Alausa, Ikeja.

Learn to Play, a music instrument teaching initiative, will run from June 19 to 21 at Lagos state education district 1, Agege, Ikeja City Mall and Domino’s Pizza locations in Yaba and Lekki.

Learn to DJ, an event which gives aspiring DJs the opportunity to learn from leading disc jockeys, will take place on June 21 at Ikeja City Mall and the University of Lagos.

The Street Studio, a freestyle music production initiative, will be held at UNILAG and Domino’s Pizza locations in Yaba and Lekki.

The finale event for the 2018 Make Music Lagos comes up on Sunday, June 24, at the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island.

Adeola Akinyemi, MML organising team chair, described the support received for the show as a commitment to music as an art.

“It is with great joy that we roll out the activities for Make Music Lagos 2018,” he said.

“The support this year, from the government and public, shows our collective commitment to music as an art and a great contributor to the development of our city, Lagos. We encourage every Lagosian to be part of the celebrations.”
