The 27-year-old rapper received the chieftaincy title from Yisa Adesola Olaniyan, the Onipokia of Ipokia, on Sunday during the 2021 Opo Day celebration held at District High School.

During the title installation, the onipokia lauded Laycon as an indigene of Ipokia who “truly deserved the title of Akeweje.”

Apparently excited, the reality star took to his Twitter page to break the news to his numerous fans alongside a video clip from the installation ceremony.

“Chief Olamilekan Agbeleshe, Akeweje Odo of Ipokia kingdom, president of the iCONs,” he wrote.

In another tweet, he revealed that his mother is an alumna of the school where the chieftaincy ceremony was held.

“Fun Fact: The venue where I was given my chieftaincy title is District High School, Ipokia, where my Mum schooled. On every transcendental being that is valid,” he added.

Laycon has continued to make headlines with his tremendous achievements since he won this year’s edition of the reality TV show.
