Is-haq Oloyede, registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB), has distanced the body from the scam on the upgrade of scores for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates.
The JAMB registrar said he has nothing to do with the scam being perpetrated with his name on Facebook.
He made this known in a statement released by Fabian Benjamin, head of information, JAMB.
Oloyede said the UTME results released by JAMB were a true reflection of the performance of candidates during the examination.
He said the board does not intend to review scores and has not been directed by the government to do so.
“The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has dissociated itself from the ongoing scam on a Facebook account calling for candidates desirous of upgrade of scores in the 2017 Unified Tertiary matriculation Examination,” the statement read.
“The fake statement, which was purportedly signed by the Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, gave the list of beneficiaries of the said upgrade and the categories of score with a telephone number that did not belong to the Registrar.
“The board wishes to state unequivocally that the statement was not from JAMB, the Registrar, Oloyede, or any of its offices nor has he authorised any persons or group to post such an inglorious request and statement.
“The board therefore wants to state that the results received by candidates from the 2017 UTME were the true reflection of their performance after going through a full – proof scoring mechanisms and as such, it did not intend to review the scores or commissioned anybody to do that. The board has also not been directed by any organ of government to do so.
“The board’s examination is not a fail or pass examination as there are other variables that are considered outside the examination to arrive at a successful admission. There is no need to be desperate at getting “high” scores as being touted by fraudulent characters is not a guarantee for admission.”

what is jamb saying about the with held results… i want my result
I went to my centre sick,wrote jamb,was admitted in Luth, operated and am yet to get my result now,I want my result,am on admission. What is happening, please reply, I need concrete answers.This is my 9 days post operation.
Good day, i am a girl who took this 2019 jamb. It was my first too. I saw my result, it was very okey. But online people were talking about uploading of waec. So i ask to how it is, i was told, and asked for tge number. I called actually for an uploand of waec result. Later, my friend who has writen before, told me that there was no need for the uploading since i register in jamb office, and has seen my result. So i call the person back and told him to stop mine that i do not need it again. He told me that he can not that in an uploading you must do an upgrade so i told the person that no i do not want any that my result was ok and i have done the uploading of waec result in jamb office. He told me that if i do not send 20k to his accout that he will make me not to gain admission. I send him my waec result, jamb regestration number and pin before i was told. Please i do not know what to do. I try calling jamb office number, but was not going through please i need your help on what to do.
