Olawale Brymo Ashimi has released his “first recording” since May 2016 when Klitoris, his most recent studio album, was put out.
Entitled ‘Do You Know Me’, the new single is a homage the independent African woman.
The new single, which was premiered Monday evening on Nigeria Info FM, was written by Brymo while Adey Omotade handled the production.
The single has all the elements of Brymo’s trademark of infusing alternative rock, folk music with afrobeat.
Prior to its premiere, the singer had said: “So excited sharing this with you guys.”
“I know I promised new releases for 2018, but ‘Do You Know Me?’ is my first recording since the release of Klitôris, and I can no longer fight the urge to share it with everyone,” he wrote on Instagram.
Brymo is expected to release his forthcoming studio album in March 2018.
The singer’s past albums include ‘Son of a Carpenter’, ‘Merchant, Dealers and Slaves’, ‘Tabula Rasa’, and ‘Klitoris’.
‘Do You Know Me’ was mixed and mastered by Kebonku Amarachukwu Joses for Mikky Sound Factory.
