Formerly known as Cynthia Morgan, the self-proclaimed queen of Nigerian dancehall music has changed her stage name to Madrina.

Apart from the new stage name, the singer has also deleted all the old pictures on her Instagram page and appears to have a new record label.

Morgan(now Madrina) was formerly signed to Jude Okoye’s Northside Entertainment in the heydays of Psquare.

She was a staunch member of the Psquare family so much so that when Peter and Paul disbanded for the first time, she uploaded a video on Instagram, pleading with them to mend fences.

After Psquare finally separated in 2017, Madrina went quiet, musically.

A recent tweet by actress Adesua Etomi, asking for Madrina’s whereabouts reopened the conversation about her on social media.

Weeks after the tweet, it was reported that the ‘German Juice’ singer was facing financial difficulties.

She was said to have received court papers for failing to pay her house rent and also for tax evasion.

Madrina reportedly owes N1.3 million in rent and N3.584 million in taxes.

In the wake of the purported financial troubles, she quietly launched her own imprint called The Cynthia Morgan Company (TCMC).

A new song titled ‘Billion Dollar Woman’ was on Tuesday put out as the first release on TCMC.
