Bisola Aiyeola could not contain her excitement after winning the 2018 trailblazer honour at the African Magic Viewer’s Choice Award (AMVCA).
The actress-singer said she did not expect to be announced as the winner of the category which traditionally does not have nominees.
Aiyeola, who lost the 2017 Big Brother Naija reality show to Efe Ejeba, mounted the stage in disbelief and screamed out her daughter’s name.
She squealed: “Leila are you watching me?”
The actress shrieked and jumped for joy, after which she apologised to the audience for her conduct.
“Please, you people should not curse me, I did not know I was going to win this,” she said.
“I thought they will nominate me next year or next two years.”
And yet again, she screamed, thrust her plaque into the air before walking off the stage.
The AMVCA trailblazer award is a special award given by MultiChoice to an actor through Africa Magic for outstanding achievement the previous year.
Somkele Iyamah won the award in 2017 while Kemi Lala Akindoju was the 2016 recipient.
