It is understood that the “unprecedented deal” would make the project “the highest negotiation so far in the African movie industry”.

Iyke released the movie, which addresses the consequences of cyberbullying, in August last year.

‘Bad Comments’ featured several movie stars including Ayo Makun, Osas Ighodaro, Yemi Blaq, Sharon Ooja, Chiwetel Agu, Patience Ozokwor, Ruggedman, Ini Edo, and Timaya.

In a statement, the actor and author announced that he would be hosting a watch party on May 2 to commemorate the deal.

The event is expected to feature Jim Iyke’s fans as well as prominent Nollywood figures.

The actor had earlier announced plans to release a sequel for ‘Bad Comments’.

Titled ‘The Crusader’, the sequel is said to be in pre-production stages with shooting expected to start by July 2022.

Last year, Iyke was in the news for orchestrating a confrontation with Uche Maduagwu to promote the movie.

The actor had said he adopted the strategy to promote the movie after spending over N20 million without getting the desired result.

“We buried over N20m in the promotion of that film and people were still viewing it with a certain degree of cynicism. Immediately there was a scandal, it caught fire,” he had said.
