The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) has announced the call for entries for its 2019 edition.

According to the statement by the organisers, 26 awards categories are available for consideration.

The period in review for the 2019 award is November 2017 to December 2018.

The statement read: “Entries have officially opened for movies made in the space of time under review (November 2017 to December 2018) that will be in consideration for the AMA Awards in at least one of the 26 various categories available for consideration at the 15th edition of the AMA Awards.

“Entries can be made online at the AMAA website and are open from October 21, 2018 till January 26, 2019 when entries closes.

“Filmmakers, enthusiasts, stakeholders etc., who would like for their movies to be considered by the esteemed AMAA Academy for the 2019 AMA Awards so they can join the elite and prestigious group of AMAA awardees are encouraged to enter said movies using the link above.

“All entries must be watermarked in a way that does not impair viewing during the screening process. Filmmakers submitting entries are advised not to use paper labels on DVDs as these prevent the DVDs from playing. Online submissions are preferred.

“Beyond credits, no entry may contain commercials or advertorials. All entries in languages other than English must be fully subtitled. This rule applies to ‘pidgin’ English as well.

“The persons or entities submitting the film must attest that they are the copyright owner or submit a letter of consent to submission signed by the copyright owner. Filmmakers must sign the standard submission release form, establishing authority and consent.”

Lagos has been confirmed as the host country for the 15th edition of the award.
