Ace comedian, Alibaba, and his wife have pledged to sponsor the education of an upcoming comedian, AB Jokes.
The budding comic emerged as the first runner-up of Mr Spontaneity competition at Alibaba’s January 1 concert.
Mary Bassey-Udoh, wife of the ace comedian, based on the judges’ decision, announced the winner of the contest as ‘Laugh Doctor’, another upcoming comedian.
Laugh Doctor was presented with a brand new car for his efforts.
The first runner-up was asked what he wanted, and the young man said he needed sponsorship for his education.
Alibaba and his wife granted the comedian’s wish as they promised to take responsibility for his education till university level.
Ali Baba’s January 1 concert was star-studded as Tiwa Savage, Olamide, Patoranking, Omawumi, Waje, Ycee, Seyi Law, Akpororo among other musicians and comedians, were there to take the audience through comedy and music rounds.
The concert is one of the biggest comedy events in Nigeria. It commenced in 2014 and it’s produced by Bunmi Davies.
