Fame is a bittersweet pill; it has its perks and burdens. Adekunle Gold knows this all too well.

Days after releasing his sophomore album ‘About 30’, the singer has put out the video for one of the singles titled ‘Fame’.

Commenting on the song, Gold said: “You see this thing called fame, it’s weird. The opportunities and exposure it has accorded me has also made me very isolated.”

‘Fame’, the singer said, “was born out of a depressed place”.

That state of depression and the feeling of lonesomeness served as inspiration for the song.

On it, Gold sings: “I’ve gone to many places with a lonely heart/ I’m longing for a place where I can be a part/ I’m here in my own hose but home seems so far/ I’ve tried to cut the distance but it feels so far.

“Everybody says don’t change but how will I grow?/ I’m scared to do the things I want but people don’t know/ I wanted the fame but I no know say the thing go hard.”
